22plus envisions a world where individuals with intellectual disabilities are equipped with the necessary tools, support, and resources to create a joyful and fulfilling life, integrating into society in meaningful and impactful ways.

Our mission is inspired by Stitch. As a child, he was a joyful and playful person who brought happiness to those around him, often dancing to music (Shakira and Spice Girls) and sharing laughter.

As he approached adulthood, our family faced challenges with his transition. At 22, he had to leave high school and look for vocational and day programs. Unfortunately, local programs weren't equipped to support his needs, and most had long waitlists. The program he eventually joined was doing its best but was overwhelming for him.

Alternatives were hard to find since most programs were for younger individuals, and those for adults also had long waitlists. This experience inspired our mission: to ensure every adult with disabilities can find the support needed to lead a healthy, meaningful, and joyful life.

Stitch's current routine is designed to help him reintegrate into society, starting with his supportive day program. It has taken years to reach this point, and we continue to work towards restoring his youthful joy.

While getting necessary support remains a challenge, this journey drives 22plus. Together, we envision a world where people with intellectual disabilities have the tools and resources to live fulfilling lives and connect meaningfully with society.
